Nondestructive Testing (End's)

Non-destructive tests represent a broad range of analytical techniques used in science and industry to evaluate the properties of a material, component or system without causing damage, based on the application of physical phenomena such as electromagnetic waves, acoustic, elastic, emission of subatomic particles, capillarity, absorption, and any test that does not involve considerable damage to the sample.

The non-destructive testing techniques are highly valuable, since they allow the control of material properties, saving time and money and allow the material tested back intact to the workplace after the inspection. Common NDT methods include ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, radiography and eddy current testing (eddy currents). END is a tool commonly used in forensic engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, systems engineering, aeronautical engineering, medicine and art.
