Mandrel operation is a mechanical machining with the aid of one or more cutting tools. In this operation, the cutting tool is fixed to a mandrel bar at an angle determined by the operation to be performed.
Depending on the job, the mandrel, also known as reaming or drilling, may be cylindrical, conical, radial or spherical.
The mandrel can be achieved conical or cylindrical surfaces, internal spaces normally difficult to be achieved, with axes parallel to each other well.
The cylindrical mandrel is the case in which the machined surface is cylindrical and its axis of rotation coincides with the axis about which the tool rotates.
